A: Water based coating is an aqueous based coating,it can been used in the printing industry. As a food-safe version of coating, the food packaging industry has started to adapt it and it has been proved to be the best alternative to PE or PLA coating.
Paper products with water based coating can break down cleanly and don't need any special treatment in order to truly decompose (unlike PLA based bioplastic). They can also be thrown out into the recycling bin, and after recycling they are able to re-pulp without danger of contaminating.
The worst scenario, such as people becoming lazy and accidentally throwing paper products into the ocean, these water based coating products can still break down at the same rate.
